How can you say Jack wasn’t acting rashly — he had NO IDEA what that glove would do! Given the record with the previous glove, it just seems inconceivable to me that Jack would do something so incredibly stupid for the sake of someone who … well, is Owen.

I don’t think he did expect Owen to be around for “just a minute” because I seem to remember him making a comment about not wanting another team member to die…

Anyway, I’m not arguing about Torchwood any more, it’s too ridiculous :p

I wouldn’t say they were acting rashly – remember the Torchwood team are human not a almost ominiscent timelord… And remember that “Captain Twat” didn’t know what was going to happen when he used the glove – the “Death” creature seemed a nasty side effect (plus he did expect Owen to only be around a minute…)

From Out of the Rain – one thing I did say to Phil during the episode was that the suspense didn’t really work, i.e. I didn’t really feel particularly on the edge of my seat, even at the points which I should have done. Still, it wasn’t badly done and I enjoyed it for what it was.

I guess one slightly worrying thing about Torchwood is that their stupidity and rashness have caused a lot of lives to be lost, i.e. with Doctor Who you know he’s always on the side of what is good. With Torchwood, they just do whatever they like and there’s no accountability for it. For example, when they bring back ‘Death’, twelve people died for absolutely no reason other than Captain Twat felt like using the magic glove.

Aaaanyway, if we didn’t have it there’d be nothing to rant about, happy days

I found your comments on “From Out Of The Rain” interesting – it was the same author who did the Fairies story and I think you had the same complaints… TBH I preferred the Fairies story compared to this one (this just seemed to lack a decent structure or suspense) which slightly disappointed me as it’s such a good concept – figures from black and white films coming alive – I think I would’ve handled it slightly different (might be a DA story there…)

Will have to see what the next few weeks bring – am just getting a bit fed up with the Bad guys attacking Owen and then losing interest… can we have something different please?

On reflection, “A Day in the Death” is much better than I first thought, I guess it was just a little coloured by watching “Dead Man Walking” – which I still think was not a good episode.
