First week survived

Well, I’ve survived my first week at Oak Hill! It was a really good – but busy – week. We both met lots of people, and I’m still struggling a bit to remember names. That said, everyone has to wear name badges for the first three weeks of term so it’s not that bad.

I’m gradually easing myself into the workload as well – we’ve been given lots to read and do, and I’m starting to make lists and work out what it is I need to do when.

I’m also starting to learn New Testament Greek, which is going well so far: I feel like I’m making progress! I can read and pronounce most words – slowly – without referring to the alphabet. Now all I need to do is learn what the words actually mean… how hard can that be? 😉

Anyway, at the weekend we went for the first time to our placement church, which is Christ Church Leyton. It was about half an hour’s drive but the traffic wasn’t bad. We were invited out to lunch and got home mid-afternoon. In the evening we went to Christ Church Cockfosters (where we’ve gone for the past couple of weeks), which is much more local to us, and I think will probably be the church where we’re able to get more involved (the only downside of our placement church being in Leyton is that it’s too far away to really go there for midweek meetings etc.)

Right, that’s all from me. Ta ta for now.
