Do not fear authoritarian rulers
The last year has been a year of fear in many ways: for some, fear of covid. For others, fear of the authoritarian way our government has responded. It’s easy to feel scared and worried when we feel powerless against what is happening. But the Bible counsels us not to be scared despite what is happening.

Lockdown has turned us back to superstition
We are often told that restrictions are necessary in order due to worrying variants etc. But is that really “following the science”? I think the lockdowns have rather turned us back towards a dark age of superstition.

Is evangelism the only thing worth doing?
A lot of churches give the message – implicitly or even explicitly – that evangelism is the most valuable and important thing we can do. But where does that leave people who work in fields which are not explicitly Christian? What about hobbies? Here I argue that this attitude stems from an insufficient understanding of the gospel.
