  • Tuesday and Wednesday

Once again, not a whole lot to say. Tuesday… went onto campus at 10:00 for a bar breakfast with Philippa, Alex and Emily’s Chris. Then I did some work on my project, then went to my lecture, had lunch with Matthew in the bar, went down to the chaplaincy, met up with Philippa and went to her place briefy to pick up some stuff. Then we went down to Mondo to meet with Nic for a while. Then I went up to Sizzlers for a while to meet people before CU, then went to CU (which was very good, incidentally — well done Andy B!) then home.

It was rather a random evening. Alex lost his phone on the way back home, so Alex, Philippa and I headed back onto campus (or almost all the way) to look for it. We eventually found it on the rugby field… anyway. Then we drank wine, and watched some of League of Gentlemen Live, an episode of “Spaced” and an episode of “Reeves & Mortimer.” Then we finally got to bed at about 3:00AM… Philippa stayed the night on the airbed.

Poor old Phil… she left her phone at the house! She left about 11:00 this morning. Anyway, long story short I sent a text to her flatmate, and I gave it back to her in town this afternoon, as I had to go in to get my hair cut. So. We headed back to her placee to have dinner, then onto campus for Fusion. Then we all watched “The Last of the Mohicans”… well I didn’t watch, so much as sleep through it. Ah well.

I’m tired. I’m off to bed now… just listening to some records I got today. Nice 🙂

  • Monday

Right then. Not much to say today. I went onto campus for chaplaincy lunch (as per usual). Then I went to my 2:00 Computer Vision lecture… a bit weird today — I actually understood some of it! It’s crazy. Then I went for a hot chocolate with Katie for an hour, then to the Brooker lab for a while with Alex, then to a computer lab to do some work on my final year project for an hour, then met up with Philippa and Alex in Mondo for a drink before going to Tesco with Philippa, Alex, Gavin, Welsh Phil, Anne-Marie and Sharon. Then back home again… had dinner, did some work on my robotics assignment, and then watched some episodes of Family Guy with Alex and Ash. And now I’m writing this! Fun fun fun.

I got a few things through in the post today. The Matrix Revolutions soundtrack was one of them. I’ve had a listen to it… it’s good stuff! The best track on there by a mile is “Neodammerung”, which is the background to the fight scene between Agent Smith and Neo. I think it definitely beats “Duel of the Fates” from Star Wars Episode 1 in terms of drama.

I also got a mix CD through from someone on the DJ Source Forums. And a couple of books by CS Lewis: “Grief Observed” and “The Problem of Pain.” We’re doing CS Lewis in theology next year, and I’m doing one of the seminars. It should be good! Looking forward to it 🙂

Ok. I think it’s about time for me to go to bed. Good night y’all…

  • FYI

Well, on Saturday after the Dunamis practise I came back home with Alex, Mariah and Toya (one of Mariah’s friends, and a CU goer I think. Apologies for spelling…) and we watched Cube and Cube2. The original Cube is fantastic — a very intelligent piece of science fiction. The second one… well, let’s just say it could be better. A lot better.

Anyway. This morning, I went to Fordham as usual. Then back home for lunch, hung around all afternoon, then went onto campus to have something to eat and then watch “Pirates of the Caribbean”. That was actually a pretty good film. Not one that I’ll be buying on DVD, but I wouldn’t mind watching it again sometime.

Then we went to SX Express (a group of people, including me, Phil, Alex, Julie and Julie’s Alex) and chatted for an hour or two. That was good fun! Then I headed back home, and watched some of “Spaced” with Phil, Alex and Sarah before writing this.

Time for bed, I do believe. Night!

  • Friday

Was pretty good! I went onto campus for my 12:00 class. Then I came back home! Woo-hoo! Anyway. I went onto campus for 5:30 to get a lift with Andy C and a few other people down to London for Foz’s birthday party. It took us about three hours to get down there (it’s in Westminster), we eventually arrived at about 8:30. It wasn’t a bad trip — I will never travel through London in the same way again, after having been through the city centre with Phil B, Chris, Joe and Karen Sumpter — they are all crazy!

Anyway. It was good to see Foz and Rich again, as well as a few other people. Kev Ling was there, who I haven’t seen for a while. I DJd for a while, although they were having speaker and amp troubles so I’m not sure whether many people actually noticed! But I think all in all a good time was had by everyone there. I certainly enjoyed it!

I finally got back home at 3:00 this morning. Not a bad trip home, considering we had to make a small detour through Chelmsford to drop Kev L back home, and stop off at Andy C’s house. Anyway, time to go onto campus to do my radio show. There’s also a Dunamis practise this evening. Dunamis is a Christmas service run jointly by all the Christian groups on campus. Welsh Phil is scripting it, and it’s shaping up to be pretty good!

    Right. That’s it for now.

  • Today and yesterday

Right. Yesterday was a pretty quiet kind of day. Didn’t do much, but relaxing! In the evening I went to Fusion at Paul’s, which went really well. We were looking at the gospel (Romans 1:16 and 17 actually) and we went over some quite tough issues. Probably just served to confuse people more but hey! Then we watched “Hot Shots” afterwards.

This morning, I came onto campus at about lunchtime, went to the SU bar with Alex, Welsh Phil, Joe and Chris. Then I came down to a computer lab to type this up (amongst other things). Now I’m going to meet Philippa for an hour, then committee meeting 4-6, then theology seminar, then back home to do some work. Fun fun fun!

  • For Phill, It was a normal Tuesday…

… for everyone else it was a normal Tuesday, unless it wasn’t normal, in which case it was a not-normal Tuesday. However, what may be a normal Tuesday for Phill may not be a normal Tuesday for other people. In fact, a not-normal Tuesday is probably a normal Tuesday for Phill, given that ‘not-normalness’ is a way of life. So those people who Phill came into contact with may or may not have experience sensations of not-normality in their normal Tuesdays, which becamse not normal because of the not normalness. Take Nic (apologies if I don’t spell it properly), Philippa’s friend, for example.

This morning me, Alex, Philippa and Nic went down to Mondo for a Mondo brunch. It was rather nice, I had a bacon bagel and a latte. By the end of the hour I think Nic was getting pretty scared by me and Alex’s antics. We were being fairly normal for us… ah well. C’est la vie.

After breakfast, I headed off to a computer lab to do some work for a bit… went to my lecture at 1:00 (fantastically exciting Computer Vision lecture), went to SX Express with Alex and Chris and had a hot chocolate and chatted for a bit, and then back to the computer lab to do some more work. Then I met up with Philippa for half an hour in Top Bar, then met with Alex and went to Top Bar for a bit then came to a computer lab to update my blog.

This evening is CU. Andy Saville is speaking, the assistant minister from Fordham. That should be ‘interesting’ given the amount of controversy Mike Neville has caused when he’s spoken at CU and the house party before. I don’t really know what all the fuss is about, but there you go.

I thought of an interesting slogan for my Computer Vision course. It could be: “Where there is no vision, the people will perish.” (from the book of Proverbs in the Bible). That’d be cool 🙂

Right then. I think it’s about time to wrap this up and go to Sizzlers. I might give eating there a miss tonight, seeing as I’ve been eating way too much on campus the past few weeks… I’ll just have something to eat when I get back. I haven’t had anything since breakfast (which could be why I’m feeling a bit hungry right now) but I think I’ve been eating a bit much over the past few weeks so going without isn’t going to do me any harm for a little while.

Ok, I will finish now. No… now. No… now. No… now.

    You hang up first!

    No, you hang up first!

    No, you hang up first…

Oh dear, the fun we have. Or don’t have, as is more likely the case. So it’s goodbye from me, and it’s goodbye from Luthor and Ferdinand, the two-inch-tall space aliens who live under my desk and give me all my ideas in exchange for my permission to eat the dust bunnies they find there.

  • Duh!

I am officially an idiot. OpenHosting were changing their servers, but I didn’t actually realise that this meant I had to change the FTP server as well. All this time my blog has just been updating the old server!

Ah well. I can’t be bothered to write anything about today… nothing much interesting happened as per usual…

  • Ah, I see

I have a feeling the problems could be due to the fact that my hosts, OpenHosting, are changing servers at the moment and haven’t yet moved their DNS server. This means that mooseofming.co.uk still links to the old site, which of course hasn’t actually changed. Not much I can do about that I’m afraid.

And you’re probably not reading this. Ah well, c’est la vie…

  • Still troubles

Well until this trouble with the cache gets sorted out, there’s not really much I can do! And there’s not really any me point posting, because you won’t be reading this.

Still. Just to update you quickly, I went to Phil B’s baptism this morning in Norwich. It was really good! Stayed at the church for lunch, then came back home to prepare my Fusion group for this week. Then Philippa came round and we watched “So I Married an Axe Murderer”, then did some random stuff with Welsh Phil and Alex. Oh the craziness!… 😉

  • Cache Troubles?

Well for some reason nothing since last Sunday has appeared here. Which is strange, because I’ve made three or four posts since then. Weird. I think it must just be cache troubles — hopefully it’ll be OK soon…
