CU was good this evening
Like I said before, Berkeley spoke about the infallible word of God. And it was really good, I enjoyed it! My faith in the Bible has been re-affirmed (not that it ever needed it!)
After that, down to Top Bar with some of the CU people. Played five games of pool, lost five games of pool… that’s not a good record! I really should play more, but the only time I play really is after CU … ah well, I guess I’m used to losing!
Anyway, that’s it. Oh what a fantastically exciting entry … nevermind. Oh the humanity. I’m going to go now before I say something really stupid (you think I’ve been bad so far? You ain’t seen nothing yet…)

Why is this Tuesday afternoon so quiet?
I don’t really know why I’m posting now, but I guess this is just one of those situations where you find yourself rather bored … anyway. I’m currently sat in the chaplaincy office… not many people are around, only Katie (and now Kerry) and the occasional Phil. Not that it’s not interesting enough talking to them, but they’re not always here and I’m just left sitting here at the computer with nothing much to do and I’m just going to try and make this the longest sentece that I’ve had in this blog how am I doing so far have I reached the required number of words yet?
Looking forward to CU tonight. It’s all about the infallible word of God. Berkeley is speaking, he’s usually a very good speaker so it shoul dbe good 🙂
Anyway, I am going to talk to Katie and Kerry now… bye…

The Whole Hot Gossip Thing
Well it turns out that I might not actually be marrying Naomi at all, according to Katie at least. And apparently Simon hasn’t actually asked Katie to marry him yet, he just assumed it. But of course, she’ll be so desperate… (her words, not mine — she’s right next to me at the moment.) She says that she’s actually going to marry her flatmate for the babies.
In other news today, I came in for my 12:00 class which didn’t really happen. In fact, it was completely pointless coming in. I could barely understand a word the guy at the front was saying, not to mention the fact that he was basically going over the same stuff which I already know (from what I could understand of it, at least).
Oh well. Anyway, I’m probably going to stay on campus until CU tonight, because I just can’t be bothered to go home. I have an assignment to hand in but I can’t do it until the office re-opens at 2:00. But of course in practice it probably won’t open until about 2:30 or so because they’re just so lazy… oh well, I guess you can’t help these things.
Oh, and Simon sent me an e-mail informing me that he’d updated his latest news and the news archive again, so have a look. DISCLAIMER: The author is not responsible for the content of external sites such as this one and makes no claims of it being interesting…

The Rest Of The Day
As you will know if you are a regular reader of this blog (looks at Simon – incidentally, if I do get a search function for this blog it will be interesting to see which names appear the most times, Simon’s will no doubt appear many times!) I went shopping this afternoon. Bought a couple of records and DVDs:
- Green Martian – Harmonic Minor [UK Bonzai Promo]
Interesting tune here from Green Martian. It’s a bit harder than usual, a bit more techy / acidic kind of sound… but I like it! Nice tune, a bit different from the stuff they’ve bene churning out recently. - Jan Johnston – Calling Your Name [Platipus Test Press]
Now this is a nice tune. If anyone wants an example of how to do a good vocal tune, listen to this! It’s not overdone or cheesy like some of them are. Recommended! 🙂
Also the DVDs I bought were Spaceballs and Monty Python’s Meaning of Life – both of them classic comedy! I shall have fun watching them 🙂
Then this evening I went round to the CYO Office to see Rich, to do some mixing and stuff… it was good! Heh… Coast 2 Coast have done a remix of Milk Inc – Land of the Living — I didn’t believe it! It’s actually really good… Coast 2 Coast can make anything sound good 🙂
Talking of cheese, I’ve been dowloading a lot of it recently… Foz says that it’s a slippery slope! I just wanted to listen some of the stuff which gets played at Cheesy Tunes, seeing as I do frequent it… and of course, having some cheese will be useful for the next party we have at our house.
That’s it for now! (apart from the revealing of my plan to bore people to death, but I’ll do that another time. Keep reading and reading and reading and reading…)

So, what have I been up to today?
At some point I’m going to actually have to put something interesting in the title. But anyway. For the answer to the question posed in the title — haven’t really been up to much. Got up at 10:30; came in to uni for a CC261 (Embedded processors) lab which was fantastically exciting. I was programming the PIC microcontroller, or at least using the simulator. In assembly language. Oh yes.
Then I went to chaplaincy lunch til 1:30; came to this lab only to find that there isn’t a lab this week because it’s a reading week. Although of course there should be labs in reading weeks there isn’t in this one.
Oh the drama!

This is fairly pointless really, but…
HOT GOSSIP ALERT
This is more of a notice… Katie has agreed to marry Simon, and Naomi has agreed to marry me. I was actually fairly surprised at both replies, but there you go — life is full of surprises. We don’t know when the wedding’s going to be just yet, but it’s going to be a double wedding hopefully sometime in the near future… watch this space (well, not literally but… oh, you know what I mean). So there you go…

I see! So I’m in competition with Mr. Lucas, am I now?
Well, on Simon’s website he’s announced that anything I can do, he can do better. Or at least, implied that. I call that an incitation (is that a word?) to competition!!! I bet I can update more frequently; I’m a computer scientist, of course I have lots of space time 😉
Anyway. What did I do today? This morning I went to Fordham (as usual). Very good sermon this morning on Romans 8 again; I can’t be bothered to get the exact reference… it’s the middle bit 🙂
Then I came back and went to a Crossring team meeting. That was rather fun.
HOT GOSSIP ALERT
Simon is going to go out with and then propose to Katie Wright. Apparently I’m going to marry Naomi, but that’s by the by really… so, look out for a Mr Lucas and Miss Wright (don’t even think about making jokes, they’ve all been done) in the marriage column of the newspapers soon 😉Oh, one more thing: do you want to know who I really am? Really? What my personality is defined by, all my inner secrets? Check out Phill Sacre and the moose of ming for many secrets about me… (should please Simon at least, eh what?)
I’m not doing anything interesting for the rest of the day. No change from the first part of the day really, but there you go.

Catch Me If You Can — My Review
Film was over two and a half hours long. I didn’t really notice it being that long, which is definitely a good thing about a film.
Leo was pretty good. The film was based on a true story although (of course) I think Hollywood probably embellished it a fair amount. Anyway, acting was in general pretty good… story kept me interested… is there anything more that I really need say?
I’d give this 7 or 8 out of ten — go see it, it’s a good film 🙂

And on the seventh day…
Well technically this isn’t the seventh day, because I started it in the small hours of Sunday morning last week. But I class it as seventh day so there you go 🙂
Not much happened today apart from my radio show, followed by the CU Mix… exciting stuff or what! That took out three hours of my day… then I came home… then I haven’t done much since…
It’s a hard life! This evening I’m going out to see “Catch Me if You Can” or something like that. The one with Leo DiCaprio (my favourite Italian director) being a con-man. Or something. Not usually a fan of Leo, but having said that “The Beach” wasn’t actually too bad.
I’ll let you know my review when I get back 😉
