  • I’m back in Colchester!

Just to let you know that I’m now back in Colchester. I really can’t be bothered to say much! I came back yesterday. Mad Welshman Phil was already in… took us a while to get everything sorted out, but I am now unpacked! Or at least, my stuff is…

Yesterday evening I came onto campus to check my email (unfortunately no broadband until a week tomorrow, the 24th). Saw Joe and KevvyB, went back home to watch a bit of Dead Ringers.

This evening I’m going to the pub with a few people including Mr Simon Lucas (who seems to be organising it). Uh… not much else to say I’m afraid!

Probably won’t update much before next week when we get broadband, assuming that it actually works… ah well.

  • Today I have mostly been doing…

Nothing. Ok, well, I got my hair cut. I worked on a cover version / remix of JX “Nothing I Won’t Do”. Been out for a walk, and stuff…

Yesterday was busy though. Left Ipswich at around 11:00, got to Colchester about 11:40 or something. Unpacked my stuff… then drove onto campus. I’ll cut a long story short here. I met Joe, we had lunch, I went to the print shop got the copies done (65.00, for 1050 A4 double-sided black and white copies), then spent four hours in total folding them whilst watching DVDs at Joe’s place and the football at Andy C’s place, where I went to have a fish and chip supper and getting there was a bit of a nightmare cause I didn’t know where it was he was supposed to be leading but I got in front and it took about twice as long as it should have done. How was that for a run-on sentence?

Anyway, it was a good day 🙂

Oh yeah, and today I also got the phone at Claremont Road connected. So on Monday I should be able to call up and order ADSL! I tried to order it today, but they can’t put it through unless the phone has been connected for a certain amount of time so they have line data to use… hopefully by Monday it’ll be OK.

I’m working at Coplestone tomorrow, a local high school. Washing up no doubt. Ah well, that’ll be my last work I do for Blue Arrow! Only four hours. Woo-hoo! 🙂

  • Quick Update

Nothing much to say though. Been working at the school, which was nice.

Bought a new computer desk on Monday. Also some new trainers. Packed some of my stuff up for tomorrow to drop off at the house. My ADSL Router arrived 🙂

And I’ll post up here in a day or two.

  • Evolution…

Right. A while ago I posted that I might be changing my point of view on the whole creation and evolution thing and actually becoming an evolutionist! I said that I’d have to finish the book I was reading first, before I could go any further. Well, now I have finished the book! So… I’ve posted up my thoughts on the Crossring discussion forum, and you can read them here.

No other news to speak of. Went to Church this (yesterday, according to the blog date) morning. Did some reading, watched the cricket, watched a bit of TV this evening, surfed the net… that kind of thing.

Over and out for this evening!

  • I’m Alive!

At least, I think so. Not that there is any reason to dispute this fact. But I just felt like posting up “I’m Alive”. Because I am. Or at least, I think so. I can’t prove it to you…

Anyway. Yesterday I worked again at the school. Then, uh… I don’t think I did anything particularly interesting. Today I worked for the same catering company that I worked for first of all with the agency! They were doing a barbeque at a sort of open day for EDF electricity (it was a kind of fair). Basically just serving hot dogs and burgers to people. Fun! — I think.

I’ve been in contact with a few people from uni and stuff. Looks like I’ll be going back Monday 15th, which is nice. Next week I will be buying a new pair of shoes, a computer desk, a wireless DSL router (already bought, but will arrive hopefully next week) and going up to Colchester to arrange CU Fresher’s week publicity and drop off half my stuff. Which will be nice.

    Rock on.

  • Dinnerladies!

Actually I quite enjoyed it this morning! It was alright.

Nothing much more to say. Except that People Like Us Series 2 is now due to be released in 2004! Typical… release dates are pushed back for everything!!! WHY???

    Um, bye for now…

  • Blogs flooding Google…

I can understand why there’s been so much furore about bloggers flooding Google. I’ve had people coming to this site from all manner of searches on Google! It’s always been something that has been mentioned in this blog, but not on the site itself. It’s weird, though, that Google doesn’t rank pages that are more relevant higher, considering that a lot of the stuff they search for should be well covered by other more specific sites! Maybe Google just likes me, I don’t know!

    Ah well…

  • Quick update

I’ve got some work for Thursday and Friday… I’m working as a “dinnerlady”! Well, ok, perhaps not exactly, but I’m working at a primary school from 11-2 in the kitchen or something. I’d imagine they’ll put me doing washing up or some such thing! Ah well, only three hours a day. I should just about be able to handle that 😉

I’m working on Saturday as well at some barbeque thing. For the same people who did the wedding I worked at, actually. Haven’t got any details about that yet though, I’ll be going into the agency to get some details tomorrow.

And the last couple of days I have done nothing much, and shall be doing so again. (“True to Form” wasn’t in the shops on Monday… typical, eh? True to form, you might say… of Distinctive Records!)

  • The Weekend Ends Here

To coin a phrase. Or something. Well… I haven’t been up to much this weekend, as may well be expected! Yesterday I worked at the football ground again, for the last time (probably) this holiday at least. It went OK, almost as busy as the England game actually! Well, it felt like that…

This morning I went to Church. And that’s pretty much about it! I spent the afternoon (or at least part of it) messing around in FL Studio 4. I’ve created something… I don’t really know how to classify it! It’s kind of reggae, but I don’t think that’s really an accurate description. It’s just nice and chilled… sort of! I don’t know. You’d have to listen to it to really know!

Oh well. I’m now slightly more than half way through “Rebuilding the Matrix.” I have to say that I think I’m just about converted to the theory of evolution! :-O! Those who know me from Crossring will know that I’ve been a fairly passionate Creationist for a while. But now I’m not so sure. I’d post up my reasons now, but I’d rather wait until I’ve finished the book!

One last thing. I’d like to wish Simon best wishes as he starts his new job tomorrow! I hope it goes really well for you, and I pray that God will bless you there. 🙂

Oh, one other last thing: Hybrid’s new single, “True to Form”, is due to be released tomorrow. Here’s to hoping that I’ll be able to get hold of a copy of it…

  • Long time, no post!

Not that much has been happening. Hopefully that will change soon though! Well, in a few weeks… 😉

Anyway. Tuesday went quite well. I got to and from Colchester without any major problems! Picked up my house key, dropped a few books off, met up with Kev B and Joe B. Went for a drink at the SU Bar, watched some episodes of Family Guy, had some dinner at the SU Bar, headed home. It was good to see some friends from uni — I want to go back there now! Still got another couple of weeks before I go back. Ah well, this summer has gone rather quickly. Not as quickly as I would have liked, but there you go 🙂

Anyway. Wednesday night was Tom’s party. He’s back from South Africa. It was pretty cool, a barbeque out in the garden. Went on til about 1:00 AM, had died down considerably then but there were still a few people around! I stayed the night. Went into Woodbridge with Tom the next morning, then came back home in the afternoon. It was all rather good fun.

Today I was working at the Sorting Office again, dead boring work but at least it pays. Tomorrow I’m working at the football ground. That’s the last thing that I know I’ll be doing with Blue Arrow (that I’m booked in for). Hopefully I’ll be able to get a few more days (or mornings) down at the Royal Mail, that should just about cover my expenses if I can get another six days down there!

I know I definitely won’t be doing Newmarket or the Football ground again, because there are no more days available at either of those places until I go back to uni.

Anyway, that’s just about everything for now. This is Phill signing off …
