  • BBQ

This afternoon I went for a barbeque. I wasn’t going to, but I decided to eventually… it had been mentioned at Fordham several times over the past few weeks! It wasn’t a specifically student thing but it was mostly students there.

Tomorrow commences the CUs Summer House Party, where we go away for a few days to a place and have some teaching as well as lots of fun! And oh yes, it will be good fun 🙂 This year we’re going to Thorrington Scout Camp. Ian is going to be our chef, so I am picking him up from campus at 9:00 to go to Tesco. Apparently shopping for the house party takes about two hours — four trolley loads of stuff! I’m not really looking forward to it, but it has to be done… I just hope it will all fit in the car.

Seeing as I have to be up relatively early tomorrow and I’m fairly tired, I am going to bed soon! So good night everybody — I’ve got to go! Got to leave you all behind and face the truth… or something.

  • The Ball…

I am afraid that I didn’t make it to the Survivor’s photo! I realised that I was running entirely on caffeine so I left about 3.00. Ah well, I enjoyed it while it lasted! And that’s really about all I have to say for it. There will be some photos up at some point, when I get around to getting them developed…

    That’s it!

  • Summer Ball Tonight!

Yay! But first… this morning I went into town, then I came back home. Then I came onto campus with Joe, and I practised a sketch we’re doing with Ian at the talent show next week. I’m looking forward to it! I have a feeling the talent show could go on for quite a long time: I know a lot of people are doing several things. Ah well, it’ll be a really good laugh if nothing else 🙂

So. I’m currently sitting in a computer lab. In a few minutes I’m going to go to Mad Welshman Phil’s place to get changed for the ball tonight. I’m really looking forward to it! We’re going for dinner at Clown’s first of all, then heading off back to campus for the ball. I would imagine we’d get there at around 10:00 tonight. Like I said, I’m planning on making it through the whole night! In twelve and a half hours time, it’ll all be over…

I’ve just read on Simon’s website that he’s not coming to the ball after all. Honestly! Some people, always changing their minds… oh well. It should still be a good night though! I know there are a lot of people going, if not everybody that I know. In fact, there are 3,000 (or is it 3,500? I can never remember these things…) people going. Woo-hoo!

Right, that’s about time for me to wrap this up. I’m not going to get a chance to post anything else up before the ball, and I’m going to be sleeping for some time afterwards, so don’t expect me to post anything before tomorrow afternoon!

  • Cheesy Tunes

Cheesy was good tonight! It was the last one of term and of the academic year 🙁 It’ll feel strange not going out on a Friday night for the next few months… having said that, you get used to it after a while. So yes.

Afterwards I drove Foz, Kev L and Phil B back home. I didn’t hit anything again! There were one or two moments… I parked the car around the block from me. I managed to parallel park! I haven’t done that since I was learning! Admittedly, it was a rather large space but I got in nonetheless. I hope I haven’t taken someone’s usual spot, but then again… if I have, tough luck! 🙂 It’s every car for him or herself these days… I might move it to outside our house tomorrow if the space outside is empty.

Right then, I’d like to be off to bed but I want to stay up a bit later considering that I’m going to be up until 5.30 tomorrow morning. Sunday morning! I might just stay up til Andy gets back. Lots of Red Bulls at the Summer Ball I should think!

  • Hi Everybody!

Hello! Just to let you know that I’m still alive and well… I came home on the train yesterday. I brought my bike back home with me… the journey was OK. Did you know that it would probably be possible to get from Colchester to Ipswich on train without paying anything? There are ways of getting on and off the platform without anybody noticing or checking for tickets, it’s only out of honesty that I actually paid…

Anyway. It’s been a good time at home, quite restful! I’m driving the car back home this evening (in about half an hour, actually) because I’m taking people on the house party next week. So if you read this in time and you’re on the roads between Colchester and Ipswich — look out 😉

Apart from that, not much to say. I’ll update sometime in the next few days. Or whatever. Later…

  • Today

I am the king of the imaginative titles, aren’t I? Oh well, it doesn’t really matter. It’s only a blog. I haven’t done anything interesting today. I went round to Joe‘s to watch DVDs for quite a bit of the day. We watched all of the Fast Show series one, followed by a few episodes of “People Like Us”, followed by a little Blackadder. Then I went into Wivenhoe to sign the contract for the house that I’m going to be living in next year. Yay! I’ve got a house next year! Officially now 🙂

Then I went back onto campus, after having fish and chips by the quayside in Wiv, to Mad Welshman Phil’s place where we tried to work something out for the talent show next week. And that’s my day!

Tomorrow I’m going home overnight, so I may or may not update. I’ll see how it goes 😉

  • You can download it now…

Ok, Simon’s bit on The Big Quiz is now available to download. It’s about 1.5 megs, so it might take a while to download if you’re on a slow connection.

As for the rest of my day, I went in for dinner with Mad Welshman Phil, Esther, Anne-Marie and Alex before CU. CU itself was good, it was just a prayer and praise session. Berkely led the worship, it was good. The only thing is not having gone for a couple of weeks I just found it a bit more difficult to get into it tonight, I think it was just because it was hot and I’d had exams and my brain was a bit fried… I don’t know! I think my spiritual batteries need recharging a little bit. I guess that’s what Soul Survivor is for! I’m going there on the 11th – 15th August this year (at least, I think it’s those dates. I could be completely wrong and it could be the 15th to the 18th or 19th or something. Whatever, it’s Soul Survivor A.)

And then it was the bar afterwards. That was good fun, probably one of the best times I’ve spent in the bar with people, mainly because there were lots there and I had a good chat with most of them 🙂

  • Simon on the Radio!

I’ve just been listening to Radio 2 to hear Simon‘s attempt at The Big Quiz. He came second unfortunately, but for posterity the MP3 will soon be available to download from Simon’s site 🙂 (I recorded it from the internet. Because of this Simon now said he will buy me the biggest drink that will fit in a pint glass at The Summer Ball — and I’m going to hold him to that!)

Anyway. I haven’t done much the rest of the day as usual, I’m so glad exams are over! I got my haircut earlier, as it’s the ball this Saturday and I want to look my best. I will try and get some pictures of me up here as well! Having said that I’m sure someone on someone’s site will…

I’m going home on Thursday or Friday to pick the car up from home and bring it back here, the reason being I’m driving people to where we’re going on the house party next week. I’ll probably take my bike home as well. Fun fun fun!

  • Lazy day…

So lazy that I managed to miss a CU Committee meeting! Ooops! I think it was a bit silly though to schedule a meeting today when the last meeting we had was on Friday, only giving two days in between. Still.

I did manage to get into town today, I bought some shoes (for the Summer Ball this Saturday) and a couple of records. Three, in fact.

So not an entirely unproductive day! Hmmm, I’m getting quite a few hits from DJ Source. Tip for any webmasters who want to promote their sites more: visit web forums and become an active member. You don’t really need to bother plugging your site, just participate and have a link to your site in your signature! 🙂

  • Today was good!

I went to Fordham this morning. It was a family service. Then I spent a very pleasurable afternoon at Wrabness with Simon, Foz and Liz. It was good just to spend some time with a few friends — I haven’t been able to see them for any length of time recently given that I’ve had exams and the like! And Simon has just sent me a message that he will be going to the summer ball after all — woo-hoo!

Then I went to Generation:Y with Foz this evening. That was a good evening, talking about the importance of reading the Bible. It struck me that I can spend hours revising for an exam and quote large bits — I could draw you a diagram of a Successive Approximation Analogue to Digital Converter if you want… but I don’t devote any time to remembering the word of God. I emphasise the remembering because I read it daily, but I don’t really put any effort into remembering it. I really should.

And that’s it. I’m very tired, so I’m going to be going to bed soon! Night…
