  • Fusion and stuff

After the last blog, I went to Foz’s to watch Rat Race. That is one of the funniest films I have seen recently! Well worth watching πŸ™‚

Then there was Fusion this evening. We looked at Psalm 40, Paul led. It was a good time of fellowship, as they say! Quite why I’m listening to Ace of Base at the moment I don’t know… *phill hurriedly presses “next” on Winamp…*

  • Coming Soon

Forgot to mention — a while ago, Simon suggested to me that I should put some kind of comments thing on this blog so that you can make comments about my posts and disagree with me if you so desire. Or agree, or whatever.

Well I’m hopefully going to be coding something like that soon, so you’ll just be able to click a button and add your own comments πŸ™‚

I’ll update again later. For now, it’s back to revision for Object-Oriented Programming…

  • Music to avoid doing revision by…

Yep. I should write an ode to prevarication… In fact, I think I’ll do it now.

Ode to preva– oooh, look at what’s on the TV!

Anyway. Have just had lunch with Jon Bennett, good to catch up with him as we haven’t chatted in ages. Did some shopping at Sainsbury’s, then came back home…

This afternoon I’m going to watch “Rat Race” at Foz’s, then head onto campus for Fusion. Fun! Yay!

  • Ah! Blog appears to be working fine now…

I changed my blog over to a new server (just a beta version) and it wasn’t working earlier but it appears to be OK now πŸ™‚

I won’t really say much about today. Nothing much to say … went into uni, had a bar breakfast with PhilB. Then went to a lecture, went to the Post Office to pick up a parcel, went back to uni, did some revision… had dinner in Sizzlers with Philippa and Kev B and for a while PhilB. CU this evening was good, I felt really fired up about it!

Then went to the bar, played a game of pool… bluh. I’m tired! That’s all for now folks…

  • New Design is Here… mostly!!!

The new design is here, at least for the front page! The rest of the pages should follow suit shortly. It’s probably a little more efficient than the last blog, it entirely uses CSS so hopefully I’ll be able to change the format easily πŸ™‚ I much prefer it.

The only thing is it doesn’t have a links bar on the right, but I don’t think many people used it and anyway — I have added a new links section (once again, coming shortly!)

That’s it for today. Speak to you soon…

  • New Design Coming Soon

I’ve been working on a new design for this blog and it should be coming soon! I’ve very nearly finished it, so keep ’em peeled. As with pictures from Simon’s party last Saturday, still awaiting those!

What have I been up to today, I hear you cry. From all that distance. The answer to that question would have to be not much. I did a little bit of CC262 revision earlier, which basically just said: “Go buy the book.” Then I went into town with PhilB and Foz, bought a few records on offer from Time, bought a DVD and another couple of records from Virgin, and then came home and watched Mallrats with Foz and Philippa. Then we ate a pizza and are now about to watch “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.” Oh the fun! Woo-hoo!

I shall post later as well. I don’t know why, because there won’t be much else to say. Perhaps I’ll do some more revision. Perhaps I won’t. Either way, I shall do something.

  • Blog Troubles!

Hmmmm. For some reason, Blogger appears to be a bit on/off at the moment. Apologies for not posting anything yesterday, but it was rather busy as you will see!

In the morning, the Essex CU Committee met up to discuss the future of the CU (amongst other things). We went to St Botolph’s Church. I’m really pleased with how it went! We had lots of ideas and lots of discussion, and I have to say I’m very excited about the future. This verse just kind of struck me as being appropriate:

β€œForget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it” (Isaiah 43:18-19)

So that’s cool πŸ™‚ Then in the evening, it was off to Simon’s birthday party at Wrabness village hall. I may have some pictures coming up of it later, and I expect Simon shall post some up on his site!

It was good though! I DJd for the first hour (7:30-8:30ish), then Foz came on, then for the last half hour or so James Mountford played. All in all it was a really good evening, if a bit hot! I think I spent quite a bit of time outside as well as on the dancefloor…

This morning I went to Fordham as usual. Afterwards we (the student contingency at Fordham, less Julie and Becca) went to the Neville’s for dinner. It was lovely! Home-made lasagne, no less. I enjoyed it! Sitting out int he sun was great — although that always makes me feel a bit lethargic and apathetic (so no different from usual then…)

Came back home about 3:00, and since haven’t done much. I tried to make a bit of a drum’n’bass mix, but I’m just listening through it again and I think I’ve got quite a lot of work to do before I can be a good dnb DJ πŸ˜‰

I’m going to Gen:Y tonight. It should be quite good, hopefully… I went there once before about this time last year and it wasn’t too bad.

And I think that’s about it! *phew*! Might possibly have some pics up later. Keep ’em peeled (your onions, that is.)

  • New Blogs…

Couple of new blogs to let you know about. Joe has started up a couple of new blogs:

Mighty Mullet Moose: The Daily Dealings (like this one, but just for Joe…)

and Chap Ass — Joe is due to be the chaplaincy assistant next year, so he’ll have plenty of spare time πŸ˜‰

I thought I’d better post now, seeing as I’m going out to Cheesy Tunes tonight and might not feel like posting anything when I get back. You never know.

This morning I went in for committee meeting. The databases lecture was, I’m pretty sure, non-existent. I thought my robotics lecture was non-existent because the lecturer said that he’d email us if there was going to be one… unfortunately, he didn’t email until about an hour beforehand, which was too late. Oh well. C’est la vie, non?

Anyway. After committee I came back home and had lunch — this could well be the first day since I’ve been back at uni that I’ve had all my meals at home! Wow. That’s deep, dude.

Just been into town. I posted off a couple of CDs to a friend of mine (who I mentioned yesterday). Honestly, spent ten minutes in the queue only to find out that I could have just put a second class stamp on it… oh well. I’ll remember that for next time — two CDs don’t weigh enough to go into the second price tier under the Royal Mail system! I worked at a sorting office as a temp last summer, I should know these things. Oh well.

Anyway. Have sorted out a few records for Simon‘s party tomorrow. I won’t get a chance tomorrow as we’re having a committee day as St Botolph’s Church until 3:00, and I’m leaving for the party at 3:30 to help set up. I’m looking forward to it, it should be good fun!

  • It was a normal Thursday

Apparently I missed a lot in the databases lecture at 9:00 this morning. The lecturer came in, said how he didn’t recognise the people, said that there wasn’t much that he could say and then told everybody they could go after 15 minutes. Oh, what a shame!

Anyway. I went into town at around lunchtime, bought some padded envolopes as I’m sending a demo CD or two to a friend of mine who works at Chemical Records. Then into uni for my Java and Operating Systems and Networks lectures; in between the two I went for a hot chocolate with Katie. Andy C and Sheri turned up as well πŸ™‚

Then I went to the theology seminar. We were talking about Iraq and war and things… it was quite interesting!

    Then I came home and didn’t really do much… woo-hoo! Etc…
