  • I’m Tired

Just to let you know that I’m back at home safely 🙂

I haven’t really done much today, apart from listen to stuff from the Hybrid Remix Album which I came home to 🙂

Um, and I’ve worked on some stuff for Crossring.

Other than that, I’ll write something more substantial when something more substantial happens…

  • Not much to report

Except that, over the next few weeks expect me to be posting a bit less. Like, perhaps once a day. If you’re lucky. I’m going home tomorrow, and I’ll only be on a dialup connection so no updates during the day, unless I happen to use the library. I might do that, but anyway, it doesn’t really matter, because I won’t be doing much interesting during the holidays anyway.

Onto more current affairs, I’ve just come back from the DJ workshop. It was good tonight, everybody played a pretty good set! I love meeting up with other DJs and just mixing for a while, I like playing tunes which people love 🙂

Um, and I haven’t really done much else all day apart from watching the second season of Fawlty Towers, classic British comedy! Love it… makes you cringe at times, but cry with laughter at others…

    And I’ll leave you with a …

  • Hmmmm

Well, apparently I’m being rude about Simon in my Blog — I take much offence to that, so I wouldn’t bother going to visit his site if I were you! And obviously those students who thinks he is a marxist as well have obviously never seen him with his “Cuba” hoodie on…

Today I’m not going to do much except for go to the DJ Workshop tonight (first time in a while I’ve been there) and probably work on some more coding for various things.

And maybe do the odd mix as well…

  • And the rest of the fantastically exciting and busy day

Well, a certain Mr Simon Lucas would be happy to know that I have been working a lot on the Crossring, sorry, Crossring article management system. It’s coming along very nicely! And I’ve also finally managed to do something with Scripting.FileSystemObject, which I’ve never really investigated before. It’s actually fairly simple to use…

Anyway. I made myself dinner, then went round to Joe’s to watch videos. We ended up watching Blackadder series four — absolutely brilliant! Ahhh, they don’t make ’em like that anymore… Hmmmm.

I debated whether or not to go to Tesco to get some chocolate, but I decided the extra ten minutes it would add to my journey (plus the time I would spend walking around) really wasn’t worth it. I’m sure you really, really wanted to know that.

Over and out for today (although, of course, because it will say Tuesday by the time you read this — oh, nevermind…)

  • Ah, this is the life…

For the moment at least. Not having anything to do is great! 🙂 Well, at least, I have stuff to do but I don’t have to which is the good bit!

Today I got up, had lunch, then didn’t really do much. I’ve started work on a new articles system for Crossring, which I’m coding in ASP.

Went into town, bought a few records…

    • DJ Jan – X-Santo [Drizzly]
An older trance number, debated whether to get it or not but seeing as there wasn’t much new out today and there was 20% off everything in time, I decided to buy it.

    • Solar Factor – No Return [Platipus:Euro]
Nice tune, Neo & Farina remix kicks ass!

    • Viframa – Cristalle [Jinx]
I seem to remember this being an older tune, but I bought it because there was a Katana remix on there. Tech-trance is more my kind of thing at the moment! That and progressive.

    • Shadow 27 – Cloud 9
Classic drum and bass, from 1993! There have been many remixes of this, but nice tune 🙂

Anyway. I think I’m going to work a bit more on my article system…

  • An Anecdote From Mr Simon Lucas

Those of you with good memories or nothing better to do might well remember that I mentioned something about Simon’s anecdotes recently.

Well, this is it one of them. Prepare yourselves for it…

“I used to know someone called Joe. I went to university with him.”

Isn’t that just the most fantastic anecdote that you’ve ever heard? I will forever attribute that wonderful anecdote to him and use it as often as possible…

Anyway. What did I get up to today? I tried working on my noughts and crosses game but ended up getting confused so I didn’t bother… then I worked on playing Fibris for a while… I’m now 2nd in the “Essex Uni” team, behind Liz! Woo-hoo!!! Anyway. That was very important, of course.

About 6ish, Simon came round and asked if I wanted to go for a meal with a group of people. We eventually got in to town and went to Pizza Express. It was me, Joe, Simon, Liz, Katie, Naomi, Jenny, and PhilB sitting round the table (in that order, going anticlockwise from me…) That was an interesting time — I wish Jenny and Phil would just get a room! I hate being around new couples…

Apart from that it was a good time 🙂

Um, and I came back and updated my blog.

Tomorrow I reckon I’m going to try and work on some stuff for Crossring, I love ASP coding. No really… actually it’s just OK, but there you go… what? I’m rambling? Really? Me? As if! Sheah right…

    Exsqueeze me?

  • Church this morning

I might as well post now, because I doubt I’ll be doing much else 😉

Anyway. Dick Lucas took the sermon again this morning, and once again it was really good. It was on the second part of Romans chapter 9. He was speaking about how God chooses to do as we wishes with us, and yet we still have free will. The two seem to contradict each other and yet they are truths which we need to accept — like Jesus being both fully God and fully man. We can’t understand it, just have to accept it…

Anyway. Apart from that I haven’t really done all that much, this evening I’m probably going round to Joe’s to watch the Simpsons (yay!), and this afternoon I might work on my Noughts and Crosses java applet. I haven’t really decided yet…

  • Yesterday

As it is today. Or whatever. I didn’t do much again! Isn’t being on holiday great? 😉

I’m in the house on my own now which is good 🙂 Have been since this afternoon, Andy left yesterday and Guy and Jerry both left today. Basically all I did is went out to a party and PhilB’s house, which was good fun.

There were on or two other things I did (such as mess around with some stuff for Crossring, but nothing much else really.

I can’t believe I have to be up so early for Church tomorrow… it’s so unfair! (Kevin the teenager style… if you don’t know Harry Enfield, don’t worry about that).

    See you soon, macaroon…

  • Again, No updates for over 24 hours!!!

That’s because I was out for a sizeable proportion of yesterday. Let me begin at the beginning…

Committee Meeting 11-1:00. That was fun, as they always are! 🙂 Seriously though, I do enjoy them, there are a great bunch of people on committee. We all get on really well which is a good thing!

Then I went round to Joe’s and Foz’s place to watch all six episodes of the first series of “People Like Us.” Absolutely fantastic stuff!

Then, back to campus to do a guest mix on Mark’s show (Mark’s a guy I met last week who heard my show and liked it). That was pretty cool… then, long time in few words, went down to the bar, then cheesy tunes, then Spin.

And I haven’t really done much today! Oh the fun 🙂

  • The Latest Craze…

Join the latest craze sweeping the chaplaincy! (and other related places…) Play FIBRIS!!! Fibris is a Tetris-clone. If you do want to play it, make sure you play under the “Essex Uni” group 🙂

I haven’t really done all that much today. This afternoon I spent a while DJing, just practising. Then I went into uni, handed in the individual submission for my group project, and went to an embedded processors lecture.

Then I came home… it’s an exciting life! Spent forty minutes chatting to Phil, he’s got his final year project due in tomorrow. I’m not looking forward to it, this time next year I’m going to be in the same situation!

Apart from that there’s not much really to report.

So, uh, back to playing Fibris (trying to beat Mad Welshman Phil’s score…)
