  • Radio and Stuff

Went in to campus for my radio show at 2:00, then CU mix from 3:00-5:00. Went Ok, this week was interesting because we had a guy named Mark stay there. He came in at the end of my show, apparently he heard the show, liked it and came up to ask me if I wanted to do a guest spot on his show. Anyway, I went round to his for 45 minutes aftewards and mixed for a bit, which was cool.

First time I’d used the Pioneer DJM-600 Mixer, very very nice! I want one!!!

Matthew’s apparently got a birthday thing tonight so I’m probably heading over there in a few minutes. Good fun 😉

  • Forums

Just uploaded some new forums to my website. They’re actually the same forums that are used on Crossring, a website which I (strangely enough) look after the discussion forums for! And occasionally write for. Anyway, if you want to take a look, they’re here. They’re basically for Essex CU, so I will be circulating an e-mail shortly…

If you want some forums on your own site, I suggest you check out Snitz, a great free ASP-based forum system 🙂

  • CU Social

The Social was good. We went to Rollerworld. I tell ya, I’ve never seen so many Essex girls aged between (say) 12-15. There were just loads of them… it was scary! I mean, I know this is in Essex but… *shudder* Ah well, we had a good time nonetheless 🙂

I didn’t actually skate, but I did play pool with Joe and Chris T which was good fun!

And… that’s all for now folks!

  • Took her for a drink on Friday

Took who for a drink? No-one, I was just doing this like Craig David’s “Seven Days” thing… oh nevermind. Just to update you; I was up last night until 2AM finishing off my java assignment. Typical computer scientist, I can’t work on these things during the day… anyway. I’ve got it finished now which is a load off my mind! I may even upload the code if you’re really so bored that you want to know… (or just want to cheat or something)

Anyway. This morning (or afternoon, by the time I got in) it was a World Cafe. Good just to meet some international students and chat to them for a bit. Then I came down to csclab4 for a group project meeting. We’re all going to meet up on Monday to try and get this project finished, which will be another load off my mind! And my embedded processors assignment is coming along nicely, so hopefully next week will be a virtually stress-free week 🙂

All good fun! Huzzah! CU Social tonight, we’re going to Rollerworld. Not sure whether I’ll actually go skating or just watch people trying to skate, but it should be good fun either way. I’ll update you later, as usual… before that, now back to Joe’s house to watch some Family Guy (or possibly League of Gentlemen) 🙂

  • Thursday

Didn’t do all that much. As usual. Went into uni then onto Wivenhoe to look around “The Chick’s House”, as it is affectionately known by those who know… the chicks (Sarah, Katie, Naomi & Suzi). Frank and Barney live there as well but apparently it’s still the Chick’s house… anyway.

Anyway, I’ll probably be living there next year (along with Mad Welshman Phil, Alex, Ash, Sarah and Suzi). It’s a very nice house, a fair walk from uni but then again so is the house I’m in now. It should be good fun!

Then I came back, went to my lecture about morphology (or something like that) in robotics, then onto theology seminar. This week the title was something like the struggle against human nature (or just sin). Was very interesting, some good discussion!

And then I went home, and ended up where I find myself now — trying to avoid doing any work.

    Great fun!

  • Wednesday

Good day. Went into uni for about 2:00, spent two hours working on my embedded processors assignment. Nearly done now! Woo-hoo!!! Gotta work on my Group Project and stuff, but geting there gradually.

Then was a committee meeting which amazingly only lasted about an hour and a half (usually reach two hours plus). So that was good! Then came Fusion… it was good tonight. We had a really good time studying the Bible — there is just such a lot you can look at it Philippians 4:1-9! It’s just amazing, hopefully people will take it to heart. Philippians 4:6 is probably one of the most inspiring verses, especially with the exams coming up!

Anyway. Lots coming up in the next few days, busy busy! Watch this space (well, not literally, otherwise that’d just be stupid…)

  • Buy a Supercomputer!

Why don’t you buy a supercomputer? That’s right, you heard me! It’s only garage-sized (or perhaps small nuclear-bunker sized).

Have a look at this page 🙂

  • No updates for over 24 hours! Shocking!

Ok… I know that it’s happened before. But anyway. I still count this as Tuesday, although on the date it will appear as Wednesday! Ah well.

Anyway. What did I do today? Went into uni for my 12:00 class. Didn’t really learn much although it was quite fun, based around the line-following algorithm thing that comes with LeJOS.

To continue the theme, I went down to the robotics lab to do my embedded processors assignment… I am proud to say that after spending four hours on it today (and probably about six hours previous to that) I’ve finally got it nailed! I reckon it’s gonna take another hour or two to finish off, or at least, get nearly completed which is very good news!

Anyway. Then I went to SX express for a quick meal, then on to the prayer meeting for Dunamis which is happening this Sunday! Then onto CU.

CU was good, I led the meeting, Clare (Suzi’s sister) spoke and she was good! It was an evangelistic talk. I’ve been thinking about doing one of those recently.. I dunno, it just seems that no-one actually preaches the gospel anymore. I mean, yeah they talk about ‘sin’ but they don’t really talk about what sin actually is, the heart of the cross etc. I guess it’s this book, “The Cross of Christ” which has kind of got into me! Hehe 🙂

Can’t really imagine me doing a talk, but there you go… it might happen.

Anyway. Then onto Top Bar as per usual, quite a few people were down there, it was good fun 🙂

Anyway. Don’t have much tomorrow; committee meeting at 3:00, Fusion in the evening (which I’m leading). Probably head in about lunchtime to try and finish off the embedded processors assignment, yay!

  • What Phill Did Next

Forgot to mention I bought a record this afternoon. VPL – Bass Trouble; another Judge Jules / Paul Masterson production. Not bad at all, probably a bit harder than I usually go but I like it! 🙂

Anyway. If you want to have a listen to the demo that I made, I’ve now got a copy up on the ‘net. I’d give you a tracklist but I really can’t be bothered… anyway. It’s in real audio format, so you’ll need Real Player to listen to it.

    [ Listen (56K) | Download (10 Megs-ish) ]

    Enjoy…

  • Well, handed the CD into Spoofers…

But I very much doubt I’ll ever here anything back. The reason being, I play trance, which apparently they’ve tried before and it attracted the wrong kind of crowd in… I don’t exactly play the stuff which drags in the pill poppers and / or lager louts. Ah well, doesn’t make much difference. I’d rather hand one in then not bother at all, you never know where these things might end up! (usually in the bin, but hey…)

Ah well. I reckon I’m gonna go work on the Moose of Ming website a bit, perhaps even the Hole Ordering Service
