You know, Opera. The browser, not “The Marriage of Figaro” kind.

I downloaded it the other day because we were doing some testing at work, and there was a bug in a page which for some reason only happened in Opera (don’t worry, it wasn’t Opera’s fault…). Anyway, I decided to give it a go because I’ve heard good things about it, so I did… and I’m rather impressed! It seems nice and fast, the controls are quite smooth (I particularly like the ‘speed dial’ feature), and in general it looks like a very polished and well-written application.

I’m currently using the Windows version (as we use Windows at work, unfortunately), but when I get home I will download the Linux version see how it compares. I’m very impressed though… I don’t know whether I will switch, but I will certainly give it a go and see how I get on!

  1. You’ll have to let me know how the Linux version fairs up.
I’ve downloaded Opera on my computer but my work doesn’t want me testing the sites on it

They say that they don’t support Opera but only IE6, 7 & Firefox.

  2. Hmm, that’s annoying – Opera is pretty good with standards-compliance, so you shouldn’t have any problems with it!

I will post up once I’ve used it for a while 🙂
