Just a quick update to let you know that I’m still alive! I survived the past two days and, despite being physically exhausted, tired, and having sore feet, I’m OK! Still, at least I got paid for it. Status Quo on Friday night were really good, I enjoyed it. And I got paid to see them whereas other people were paying! hehe 😉
I’ll update a bit more tomorrow. For now folks, I’m off to bed…
Sorry that I haven’t updated this in a few days… I haven’t really done much, as you can probably guess! If you’re a fairly regular reader you could probably guess what I’ve been up to.
I just wanted to say that I’m not going to post anything for the next couple of days… tomorrow and Saturday I’m working at Newmarket racecourse. I get on the coach at 12:30 PM, it’s an hour and a half journey there, then I’ve got to work until about 11 (maybe), then come back home. Now, I might not get back home until 2 in the morning depending on when I finish and when other people finish (we have to wait for another group). The unfortunate thing is that I’m working on the Saturday as well, and I have to be on the coach at 7:30 that morning. So that’s about four hours sleep, then another long day… hopefully I won’t collapse due to exhaustion! It’s only for two days so I should be able to handle it, it’s not the first time I’ve had to make do with not much sleep.
So yeah, don’t expect any updates til at least Saturday night, quite possibly Sunday, to let you know how it went!
So, how did it go yesterday? Not bad, thankyou very much! Not much really to say about it. It was in a marquee, I just had to serve food to people (it was buffet-style, so there wasn’t much opportunity to splatter stuff over people unfortunately) and clear up afterwards. Then at the end, wipe up. All-in-all, not a bad day — I wouldn’t mind doing something like that again!
I am a bit worried about Newmarket on Friday though, I spoke to one girl who worked there and she said that she didn’t get home until 1:30 in the morning one day! Not because she finished particularly late (well, about 11) but because there was another group who finished quite late. And it’s an hour and a half each way to journey! Still, at least it’s not every day. I’ll make sure to take a book.
This morning, I went to Church. Then I came back home. And had dinner, and … nothing much exciting really! Ah well.
Oh well. It’s not like I’ve done anything interesting. Today I did some work! Woo-hoo! Blue Arrow rang me up out of the blue, saying that they needed someone to help move a house. Not, like, pick up a house and move it somewhere else. Pick up the furniture in the house and put it into a van so that it could move somewhere else. My muscles are now a bit sore, but feeling better than they did a few hours ago!
I’m working tomorrow at someone’s wedding, I’ll be sure to let you know how that one went. It will be interesting… I’m also working at Newmarket racecourse next Friday doing a similar kind of thing (catering, so probably emptying the bins outside or something…)
I’ve been watching a lot of Family Guy 🙂 Only four more episodes to go before I’ve seen the whole of Season Three!
And been reading Victory Over the Darkness and stuff. It’s all good!
This evening I chatted to Zoe (Foz’s sister. If you know neither Foz or Zoe, then don’t worry…) on the phone for about an hour. I hadn’t spoken to her since February, hence the long time!
And… that’s about it. Seeya!
I was reading Simon‘s diary, and he said that I hadn’t mentioned going to the cinema with him last Friday to see “The Hulk”. The reason was, Simon, like you mentioned I still owe you money — I was trying to get away with not paying 😉 I’ll give it to you next time I see you. Although the next time you read my blog, this will probably be off the page …
Didn’t do much today, apart from go into town to collect my copy of “Victory Over the Darkness” which arrived at the bookshop today! I’ve started reading it, it’s really very good. I’ve definitely got some good ideas for my talk at CU next term 🙂 And my copy of Family Guy Season 3 DVD should arrive tomorrow! Yay! That’s a day gone 😉
Well I’ve just found out Morning Sci-Fi isn’t out today after all, it’s coming out in September. I was really looking forward to that! Although… it’s probably a good thing, because I can’t really afford it right now. I’ve already ordered Family Guy Season 3, so something else as well… hmmm. 😉
Anyway. I bought a couple of records, and — guess what? I’VE GOT SOME WORK!!! Not regular as such. I signed up for Blue Arrow, and I’m going to help out with catering at someone’s wedding on Saturday. That’ll be a few quid anyway 🙂
God DOES answer prayer! I just felt that this week was going to be the week… anyway. I’m happy! I didn’t particularly want to have to do catering, but I’m sure it’ll be OK. I can wash up, empty bins and stuff. Never doing ‘waitering’ before, but hopefully I won’t have to. I don’t want to spill something down the bride’s wedding dress…
Anyway. I’ll let you know how it goes. For the moment I’m signing off!
Alright. Now over 130 visitors, and this site’s only been up since Thursday evening / Friday morning. I don’t know where you’re all coming from. For all I know, it could just be a bot or something. Whatever. I’ve now got the referrals doohickey working, so I know where people are coming from! Assuming they’re actually clicking through from somewhere else. One person might just be coming here 20 times a day… well, I know what you’re thinking, but — IT’S NOT ME!!!

I didn’t really get up to all that much! In the morning I went to Church. It was quite good this morning, actually, I enjoyed it 🙂
Then this afternoon I watched “Rat Race” (again). I wrote a bit more of the story. I played a few games… the usual stuff.
Tomorrow, Hybrid’s album “Morning Sci-Fi” is allegedly released! I’m hoping it will come out in the shops, but it might not. If it doesn’t then I’ll just have to order it online. Hrrrrmph. Or something. Also, “Family Guy Season 3” is being released on DVD. I really like Family Guy so I think I might order it from play.com — only £17.99 including delivery! Not bad for a double DVD considering they’re usually about £25. Perhaps the first two seasons will go down in price a bit as well; Joe‘s got them both on DVD but I’d like to own them as well. I really like that style of comedy!
I’m not too worried about bank balance going down at the moment, God’s reassured me that he’s got it in hand so I’m just going to trust him (and spend as much as I can 😉 no, not really… about the spending bit, that is…)
Last night there were about 65 visits to the site, I check again this morning and there were over 80. This is just strange. I’ve got to get that referral thingy hooked up. I suspect it’s just one or two people visiting, or perhaps it’s just a bot. I don’t know.
