  • The problem with superstars…

Well, to be more precise, the problem with superstar musicians. Particularly DJs. I just hate it when concerts stop being about the music and start being about the DJ (or musicians, the band, whatever). It’s just ridiculous.

And this is why I don’t want to be a superstar

  • And again…

Nothing much to say! Yesterday… went onto campus after lunch. Did some work. Went round to Philippa’s for dinner and then fusion. Came back home. Installed Mandrake Linux on my computer. Don’t know why, I just want to feel more like an ‘Elite’ computer scientist. Unfortunately the wireless network card doesn’t work, I could download drivers from the internet but — I need an internet connection to do that! I’ll just have to download them in Windows and then email them to myself, or something.

Anyway. Today I’ve just been doing lectures and work on my project… nothing particularly exciting (it never is really).

    And that’s it. Bye…

  • Wow! An update a day later…

This is the first time in a while that I’ve updated this blog the day after I updated it the last time. Having said that, I did update the blog yesterday at about two minutes past midnight, so this is only technically the day after… anyway, enough prevarication. What have I been up to? Nothing exciting, but you knew that already.

Yesterday, went onto campus for chaplaincy lunch. Went to my robotics lab, worked on my assignment. Got frustrated with the Pioneer robots and gave up. Went to Tesco, got some food. Came back home. Went to the chippie for dinner. Went to the pub. Came back home, watched “Minority Report” (a very good film, incidentally), went to bed.

So there you go. Happy now? Hmmm? Well, are you? No? Ah well, you can’t please everybody all the time. If you do you’re only fooling yourself. You can only please some of the people some of the time, and… nevermind.

  • The Weekend

Not a very exciting weekend I’m afraid! Not because I’ve been working, but just because I’ve been really boring… Saturday, I went to do my radio show on campus. Then I came back home. Then Philippa came round for a bit and we played ‘Pass the Bomb’ and Consequences. Sunday, went to Fordham in the morning. Very challenging sermon actually! Well, I found it challenging… then I came back home, had lunch, went for a walk down the Wivenhoe trail and went onto campus. It was a lovely day for a walk… until it started snowing! Anyway, I prepared my fusion group, went for a drink with Philippa, she came round and we watched ‘Sliding Doors’. And that’s it.

Tomorrow, back to work! 10,000 words written of my final year project… all the evaluation still to do, as well as some testing. It’s all good fun…

  • I’ve been very lax!

I’m afraid I’ve been very lax in updating – again! No surprises, then. But I really haven’t been doing anything particularly exciting. Tuesday evening, I went to CU and then headed round to Philippa’s place with a bunch of other people for pancakes. I didn’t actually have any pancakes in the end though! I wasn’t particularly hungry and I’d had some earlier. Still, it was a good evening.

Wednesday, during the day I did some work. In the evening was Fusion, and then Philippa came round for a bit afterwards. In the afternoon I went for a cream tea at the tea rooms in Wivenhoe — it was really nice! I’m looking forward to going there again in the summer 🙂

Yesterday, I went onto campus for 12:00 for ‘horizon’, I was leading the short service type thing on 1 Corinthians 14:1-25 (about the gift of tongues and prophecy). We had some good discussion… then I did some work for the afternoon, then went to theology seminar, then went home and did some revision for my progress test today in Middleware.

Today, I did some revision, then had my progress test on campus, did some work for an hour, and now I’m going home. And… that’s just about it!

  • Another update

I do apologise for the total dullness of my blog recently, I’m afraid that it’s going to continue for another few weeks! The amount of work I have to do before the end of term is crazy, so that’s what I’m doing at the moment. Testing for my project… oh the fun! I’ve written 1,500 words on the testing I’ve done so far and I don’t think that’s half of it. Still — at least it’s getting there, which is the important thing! In a moment I’m going to go and get myself a drink and then head down to the chaplaincy to do some reading for my middleware progress test I have this Friday. And then I’m going to come back to the lab and do some more testing (or — shock! horror! – possibly write up some implementation…)

Ah well. I suppose you could probably guess what I was doing yesterday… working! That’s right! I worked on my robotics assignment in the lab for a couple of hours, then I did some work on my project, then I met up with Philippa for a drink before going back home, having dinner, working, then playing the PlayStation for a while with Alex and Phil.

Ah, good fun… not long to go now, it’s rather scary. A project to hand in, as well as two assignments and a couple of progress tests. I’m sure I’ll manage… “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Bring it on!!!

  • The Weekend

Nothing much to say really! It’s a shame. On Friday evening we didn’t do anything exciting, just watched ‘Men in Black II’ with Alex and Ash.

Saturday… radio show 2-3. Came back home. Did some work. Watched ‘Swordfish’ with Ash. Went to bed.

This morning, woke up. Didn’t go to Church (no lift – Paul overslept!). Played the PlayStation with KevvyB, had some lunch, watched Back to the Future 2 + 3. Which brings me up to date. Lazy Sundays… they’re great!

  • Firstly…

We watched ‘School of Rock’, not ‘Age of Rock’ as I said in my last update! It was very good actually 🙂

Uh, yeah. Anyway. I’ve just been doing some work and stuff over the past couple of days. Nothing exciting. I probably won’t go out tonight, I’m feeling tired! Hence the briefness of this update.

    Um, yeah…

  • Ok, an update.

I am feeling much better today, you’ll be glad to know! (Well, I hope that you will be). Was feeling better yesterday as well, but didn’t really get a chance to update my blog. Anyway, what’s happened since my last update?

Ok. Yesterday I went onto campus for my 9:00 project meeting. Then I had a bar breakfast with Alex and Philippa, then I went to a computer lab to do some work on my project. With the exception of a lecture and a class, I stayed there until about 6, and then went to Sizzlers for tea. Actually I didn’t have anything to eat, I just had a drink. Then CU. Afterwards, Philippa wasn’t feeling particularly great so I went home with her, and got a taxi back home, and then just did stuff with flatmates. Chatted and played the PlayStation. And what-not.

Today, I went round to Philippa’s flat, because Philippa and Rich were cooking dinner! And it was really good! Chicken type thing with mushrooms and sauce and rabbit food (salad). I enjoyed it, at least! Unfortunately the Apple Strudel was a little burnt, but nevertheless good.

And I think that’s just about it for now. This evening, because no-one can make it to Fusion except me, Paul and Phil we’ve decided to have an impromptu social and go out to the cinema to watch ‘Age of Rock’. It’s meant to be good, I’m quite looking forward to it!

Ok, I think that’s it for now. I’lls talks tos yous laters.

  • Not a fantastically exciting weekend

Just a quick update. After my last post, me and Ash watched ‘Fight Club’. Then we played “Driver” for a while, before going to bed. Yesterday, I didn’t go to church yesterday morning – I was feeling a bit too ill. I didn’t really do much all day actually, except play “Driver”… in the evening, Philippa came round and we watched ‘Airplane II’.

Today, I’m going to go onto campus, I’m not sure whether it’s a good idea but I don’t want to miss my robotics lab! If it isn’t very useful, then I’m not going to be happy. And I can always get some Lemsip at the Spar I suppose…

    That’s it for now! Laters…
