  • Party people, hey, it’s Friday night…

But I’m not a party person, or at least not for the moment, so it’s OK. Anyway. Today I spent several hours trying to record the mix that I worked out a tracklist for yesterday. I quite like the tracks, it’s just I want to get this one perfect which is a very difficult thing to do! I’m going to work on it more tomorrow, hopefully get something recorded soon.

Apart from that, I spent some time revising Computer Graphics — I’m now up to the last set of lecture notes! Of course, I haven’t bee going over in any great detail but that doesn’t really matter — the important thing is that the ideas are going back through my head again after not having done the subject since Christmas.

I might read a bit more of “The Cross of Christ” now — I’ve only got three more chapters to go (12, 13 and the conclusion). Yay! I’ll be glad to finish it. Then I can get onto those evangelism books I bought at the UCCF conference, hopefully they won’t take as long to read! I might go for something a bit lighter (“Sowing, reaping, keeping” looks fairly light and not too heavy – I might try that one!)

Other than that, I haven’t really got much else to say.

    See you guys later!

  • Well, I’d better let you know what’s going on

Just in case anyone’s interested. I didn’t actually do any revision today! Shock! Horror! I went into town after lunch, had a good ol’ browse round the shops… bought a copy of “Airdrawndagger”, Sasha’s album, on vinyl. It’s actually quite nice! Very progressive.

I got back home and decided to do a prog trance mix, so I managed to work out a tracklist. I’d give it to you, but I really can’t see anyone who reads this being interested in it 😉

Um, anyway. Had dinner, watched a film… can’t remember what it’s name was, it was an old black and white one with Robert Mitchum. Aye.

Well, that’s all I’ve got time for now, Children, speak to you later!

  • Ah, the wonders of technology

Well, I was going to make a post here (just to shock you) before 6:00, from one of the computers at the library. However, before I could actually make any posts it decided to stop working… oh well.

C’est la vie! I’ll update later with a description of what I did today! I bet you can’t wait! 😉

  • And a very happy un-birthday to you!

Unless it’s your birthday, in which case a very happy birthday to you! But anyway. I’ll just say it straight out: I didn’t do much today. I hardly need to say it really, do I?

So anyway. I did the usual (revision, mixing, reading — actually, nope, didn’t do much of that today. Will probably read a bit now though.)

And, um, well… that’s all I’ve got to say today. No astounding revelations or anything. Oh well… tomorrow is a Thursday. I will probably go into town and perhaps buy that databases book (CC254 Databases is the only course which I didn’t really attend. In fact, I think I only went to three lectures out of 20. Oh well… I got 83% in the courseework or something, unfortunately the exam and the coursework are two different things…)

So, um, I’ll leave you now… instead of me rambling on, you know, like I usually do. And just carry on stuff to make the blog look longer even though there’s not really much there.

So, lovely weather we’ve been having recent… *sounds of Phill being strangled*

  • Happy, uh, Tuesday

Yay! It’s Tuesday!!! Or, uh, whatever. I was going to post up an April Fool’s joke here, but then I realised that the whole site is virtually an April Fool’s joke, so there you go. I think the whole thing is a bit stupid anyway… oh well.

Guess what? No really. Seriously, guess what.

I didn’t do much today!!! Woo-hoo!!! Did an hour or so of revision, going through my Networks notes from CC255 “Operating Systems and Networks.” Fascinating stuff, oh yes. Had lunch, went out for a walk, got wet, came back into the dry, mixed for a while, read another chapter of “The Cross of Christ”…

You see, the problem is now I’m not doing anything ‘big’ I have to say the small little stuff. Oh well.

I won’t stoop to the level of telling you what I had for my meals, that would just be overkill (it was Cornflakes this morning, Sandwiches for lunch and a resotto for dinner, by the way).

Au revoir, my fine furry friends.

  • “It’s just another day… like any other day…”

So goes Skip Raiders – Another Day. Which samples Barber’s Adagio for Strings. Which is on William Orbit’s album, “Pieces in a Modern Style.” Which I bought today. Which I am listening to now. It’s a great album, chilled classical stuff, highly recommended! Also is “Classical Ambience” — very chilled as well, again recommended.

And in a completely different vein, I also bought David Forbes – Answers, Impact – Hands of Faith and The Roc Project – Never (Filterheadz Remixes). All good tunes, I was actually quite impressed! Definitely a cut above the flip n fill / kelly llorenna etc cheesey crap that’s coming out nowadays. Well not even that.

This is what I don’t like about this kind of music — it’s not cheese, and it’s not proper trance / dance — it’s somewhere in the middle. Which doesn’t really make it anything. Ah well…

Anyway, bought those in town, then came back, did some revision for Computer Graphics, had dinner, watched a Perry Mason film… and wrote up this Blog.

And that’s it folks! Talk to you soon…

  • Once again, yet another 24 hour period passes without an update

This is my version of Sunday evening, although it will display as Monday morning. Oh well. I’ll bring you up to speed, so they say…

It was mother’s day today. This morning was a mother’s day family service, it was pretty good! It’s always interesting to have something different happening. I bought Mum a card and a box of chocs although I didn’t actually get around to giving them to her until this afternoon… oh well, she didn’t seem to mind too much!

This afternoon I didn’t do much. And this evening I didn’t do much. I spent some time reading (now only 100 pages left of “The Cross of Christ” — wooo!!). I spent about an hour and a half chatting to Andy B — first time I’ve had a proper chat with him since Christmas-time, hence the long time!

Did a bit of mixing… this evening I watched a film called “Black Dog.” I saw it a few years ago and quite enjoyed it so I decided to watch it again, it’s just finished. All about trucks and people fighting each other in trucks (kind of like the bit in “The Fast and the Furious” but more that kind of stuff, if you know what I mean. If you don’t, tough. That’s your fault.)

And now I’m going to bed… I don’t know about these early bedtimes you know, what next — going to bed before midnight? Honestly, I don’t know what these students are coming to these days…

  • England 2 – Lichtenstein 0

Not a classic match really. That was hardly an England performance of any note… still, at least we won and got the job done. On Wednesday however, against Turkey, we’re going to have to play much better to stand a chance of winning.

Ah well. I haven’t done much today… pretty much the same as yesterday! Ah well, that’s what I love about holidays — it’s not a holiday if you don’t spend much time doing nothing.

I did get out my notes from my bag… haven’t started looking at them in any detail yet, but I’ll start that next week (I don’t do much detailed revision until term starts again, I’ve got quite a good short-term memory so I weight more of my detailed revision to the last few days and weeks before the exam)

  • The Second day at home, even less happened…

Yep, so. Didn’t do much today. I watched “Zoolander”, which is actually a pretty good film! It’s actually quite funny, which is more than I can say for some of the films which I’ve just decided to watch on impulse… I’m glad I bought it! If you liked “Meet the Parents” you’ll probably like this, it’s got the same guy in it (Ben Stiller) and it’s a similar kind of comedy. Well, probably not at all really, but what the heck.

Apart from that I went for a walk, mixed for a while, read for a bit, played on the computer, coded (and am coding) some stuff for Crossring (figured out the date troubles, reckon it’s going to be up and working by the time my article’s up on Sunday!) and not much else.

I suppose I’d better start revising sometime soon — having said that, there’s no rush; still got a while to go yet! (I’ll keep telling myself that, might work…)

  • So, what did I get up to on the first day at home?

Not much really, as usual! I’m afraid that the news is going to be very boring for the next few weeks. Oh well, no change there really… (but don’t say I didn’t warn you.)

The main thing I did of note was go into town. Had a look round. The HMV in Ipswich is much better than the HMV in Colchester, record-wise — they’ve got much more and a better selection of current stuff. There were two or three there that I wouldn’t have minded getting if it wasn’t for the price… the problem with buying upfront promos is that you have to pay through the nose for them. To be honest, I can do without a lot of it; I’d rather spend time trying to work with the stuff that I’ve got then keep buying loads of new stuff (and never really learning it). Ah well, while I’m at home hopefully I’ll get a chance to spend more time mixing 🙂 I did this evening, had a mix for an hour or so, threw in quite a bit of the Hybrid remixes that were on the album. Moby – Bodyrock (Hybrid Remix) — AWESOME!!! Dirty breaks!

Anyway, back to Ipswich. Yeah, the only things I bought were a couple of DVDs (buy one get one free, or BOGOF as I prefer to say…): Spaced series One (Phil’s got both series, we had an all-nighter before Soul Survivor watching both but anyway, I want both of them — great stuff!) and “Zoolander”. I’ve never actually seen it before, but Ben Stiller was pretty good in “Meet the Parents” and it looks pretty good.

I shall give you my review soon!

So anyway, after I got back from town I spent several hours watching Spaced series one, had dinner, did some mixing for a while, and then typed up this blog.

Then hit the submit button, then drank some coffee, then went to bed… something like that, whatever. 🙂
